Kathmandu, Nepal ,July 25, 2024: A terrible plane crash took place at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 24, 2024. At least 18 people, including a Yemeni national and a child, died in the crash. The plane belonged to Saurya Airlines and was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara. There were 19 people on the plane. The pilot survived but has injuries to his eyes. He is being treated at Kathmandu Medical College Hospital and is not in danger. The plane took off at 11:11 a.m. local time and turned right, but it crashed just moments later in the eastern part of the airport. Army personnel were seen picking up luggage from the crash site. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal released a statement saying the crash is being investigated. After the crash, the airport stopped all flights for a short time but has now resumed operations. This crash is another sad event in Nepal's history of plane accidents, which are often caused by the country's challenging mountainous terrain and changing weather. The nation is deeply saddened by this event, and our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives.
